Position – Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
Job Location – Neillsville, WI
Starting Date – Immediate
Employment Term – Direct Hire
Employment Type – Full-Time
Work Hours (Shift) – 1st Shift (6:00am – 4:30pm Mon-Thu)
Starting Pay – Depends on Experience
Required Education – High School Diploma/GED required, technical schooling preferred
Required Experience – Minimum of 1 year of related technical schooling or 2 years of welding inspection experience (or combination totaling 12+ months)
The Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) plays a key role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of fabricated parts and assemblies. This position is responsible for performing detailed inspections using a variety of tools, interpreting blueprints and specifications, and documenting results. The ideal candidate is a quality-focused professional who thrives in a team environment and takes pride in precision work.
Responsibilities
- Perform inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products for conformance to specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings
- Set up and operate inspection tools, gauges, and equipment
- Document and report inspection results accurately and in a timely manner
- Identify and investigate non-conformances; collaborate with internal teams and vendors to resolve issues
- Perform routine maintenance on inspection tools and equipment
Qualifications
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of related technical schooling or 2 years of inspection experience (or combination totaling 12+ months)
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, welding symbols, and technical specifications
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally and operate forklifts/hoists
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed
