2nd Lead Material Handler

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced 2nd shift Lead Material Handler to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented and customer-focused individual with strong leadership skills and a proven ability to manage warehouse operations efficiently. This role is crucial in ensuring smooth product flow, maintaining high quality standards, and fostering a safe and productive work environment.

Position – 2nd Lead Material Handler

Job Location – Milwaukee, WI

Starting Date – Immediate

Employment Term – Temp to hire

Employment Type – Full time

Work Hours (Shift) – 2nd shift (2pm-10pm)

Starting Pay – $24 + $1.50 shift premium

Required Education – High School Diploma/GED

Required Experience – At least 3 years of experience

As a material handler, you will be responsible for safely operating a Crown stand up forklift from shelving units from ground floor up to several feet high, shipping and receiving and loading/unloading trucks.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage dock staging areas to ensure efficient organization and proper loading of products.
• Communicate with management regarding routing processes to optimize cost-effectiveness of deliveries.
• Ensure proper load securement for all deliveries, adhering to safety standards.
• Conduct quality control inspections for high-profile shipments to maintain product integrity.
• Run and monitor various daily reports to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Act as the primary leader in charge during the absence of supervisors or managers.
• Provide coaching and counseling when necessary to team members.

Qualifications

• Experience: 3-7 years of related experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
• Customer-Oriented: Prioritizes customer needs while adhering to company procedures.
• Detail-Oriented: Pays close attention to the minute details of tasks and projects.
• Problem Solving: Proactively identifies and resolves work-related issues.
• Time Management: Effectively organizes and completes work within deadlines.
• Leadership: Ability to delegate tasks, provide guidance and training, coach and counsel team members, provide feedback for reviews, and respond to corrective action procedures when necessary.
