Join a growing Menomonie manufacturer offering a hands-on technical role within a clean and quality-focused production environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with injection molding, machine setup, maintenance, or strong mechanical troubleshooting experience who enjoys problem-solving and keeping production running efficiently. Candidates with direct mold setup experience are highly preferred, but mechanically inclined individuals with related manufacturing backgrounds may be considered for training.

POSITION – Mold Setup Technician

JOB LOCATION – Menomonie, WI

STARTING DATE – Immediate

EMPLOYMENT TERM – Temp-to-Hire

EMPLOYMENT TYPE – Full-Time

WORK HOURS (SHIFT) – 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday, 2:30pm-11:00pm

STARTING PAY – Up to $30.00 per hour depending on experience

REQUIRED EDUCATION – High School Diploma or equivalent

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE – Previous injection molding, mold setup, machine setup, maintenance, or related mechanical manufacturing experience required. Prior experience as a mold tech for at least 3 years.

As a Mold Setup Technician, you will support production operations by installing molds, setting machines for production runs, troubleshooting processing issues, and ensuring equipment is operating safely and efficiently. This position works closely with production, tooling, engineering, and maintenance teams to maintain quality standards and minimize downtime.

Responsibilities

• Install and remove molds from injection molding machines
• Verify setup conditions and production readiness before startup
• Load and prepare production materials according to specifications
• Establish machine processing parameters and cycle conditions
• Troubleshoot molding or processing issues to maintain product quality
• Work with tooling and engineering teams on mold corrections or adjustments
• Perform machine and equipment checks to ensure safe operation
• Assist with production changeovers and machine scheduling needs
• Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges for quality checks
• Support maintenance and troubleshooting activities as needed
• Operate molding presses and related production equipment

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
• Previous experience in injection molding, mold setup, maintenance, or manufacturing environments preferred
• Ability to read and follow setup procedures and production instructions
• Experience using hand tools and precision measuring instruments
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
• Basic computer skills and good communication abilities
• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the shift in a manufacturing environment
• Cleanroom or medical manufacturing experience is a plus
