POSITION – Powder Coat Technician

JOB LOCATION – Spooner, WI

STARTING DATE – Immediately

EMPLOYMENT TERM – Temp-to-Hire

EMPLOYMENT TYPE – Full-Time

WORK HOURS (SHIFT) – 1st Shift (6am-4:30pm, Mon-Thurs)

STARTING PAY – $17-18/hour Depending on experience

EDUCATION– HS Diploma or Equivalent preferred, but not required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE – 1 to 3 years related experience in a metal fabrication setting preferred

While working as a Powder Coat Technician position you are responsible for preparing substances for the powder application process including hanging, washing, plugging, scrubbing, taping and sanding of parts.

Responsibilities

• Performing oven and wash bay procedures, maintenance, and operations.
• Operating a forklift and completing light maintenance tasks.
• Reporting any issues with quality, processes, equipment, or materials to the Supervisor.
• Packing parts for shipping, ensuring no damage occurs during handling.
• Ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Engaging in ongoing training for the powder application process.
• Retaining knowledge from each job for continuous improvement.
• Detecting and reporting defective materials or questionable conditions to management or the designer.
• Maintaining the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, following prescribed safety procedures.
• Conducting quality inspections and checks according to quality documentation/control plans, including documenting results.
• Demonstrating continuous improvement in site Safety and Quality standards and procedures.
• Meeting the standards of the site attendance policy.
• Assisting in other work areas as assigned.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a related setting, which may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
• The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, memos, and simple instructions.
• Knowledge of basic business math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
