Position – Process Engineer
Job Location – New Richmond, WI
Work Hours (Shift) – 1st Shift
Starting Pay – $28 - $35 BOE
Required Education – Associate or 5 years similar experience
SUMMARY OF ROLE:
The Process Engineer is responsible for process development and all support documentation required for new tooling, transfer tooling and existing tooling. The Process Engineer will support/assist/train and lead production department as needed to include molding machine changeovers, troubleshooting, setup and operation of automation and documenting key parameters of the molding process for all tools and assembly operations as well as working with the quality group and production technicians. Must be an effective team player to support all personnel and other departments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support Engineering, Quality, Production and Maintenance projects as needed.
· Develop all support documentation required for new tooling, transfer tooling and existing tooling per specs provided internal and customer provided.
· Measure dimensions and conduct visual inspections per the control plan/blueprint to help qualify runs. Documenting the results for review with Engineering and Quality Manager as needed.
· Monitor key molding process parameter on all tools looking for trends, spikes or shifts in the process.
· Set-up, removal, and general maintenance of tooling including auxiliary equipment.
· Basic tool preventative maintenance and complete changeover on tools.
· Load cycles, set process parameters and/or troubleshoot presses and tooling as required.
· Convert cycles from different injection molding machines in facility and train others on how to complete this exercise.
· Troubleshoot machine/process issues to determine root cause and correct to eliminate repeated occurrences.
· Ability to complete material handling functions to keep machines running and limit downtime.
· Ability to perform thorough quality checks and perform tasks with accuracy.
· Respond to machine alarms, make process and or mechanical adjustments, and notify appropriate personnel as situation requires.
· Provide continuous improvement and productivity ideas.
· Train existing and new employees of any aspect of injection molding in the facility.
· Monitor, start and stop work orders in IQMS.
· Complete Sample runs as necessary, enter scrap as required by job. Move sample parts with in the MRP system to close out the sample order.
· Ability to multi-task
· Safely operate forklift to move tools and product.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
· Must be able to work efficiently in a fast paced and team environment.
· Operate molding machine and or assembly operations to meet production demands.
· Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
· Associate degree in manufacturing, and or advance Technical Apprenticeship Program Certification, and or 5 Years of experience in similar roles in injection molding required.
· Knowledge of injection molding presses, injection molds, thermoplastics, and support equipment
· Knowledge and experience with cleanroom molding operation.
· Computer knowledge is required and knowledge of production monitoring and ERP systems.
· IQMS system experience is a plus.
· Must demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and experience.
· Able to read blueprints.
· Able to use measurement equipment.
· Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
