POSITION – Production Supervisor

JOB LOCATION – Spooner, WI

STARTING DATE – Immediately

EMPLOYMENT TERM – Direct Hire or Temp to Hire

EMPLOYMENT TYPE – Full-Time

WORK HOURS (SHIFT) – 1st Shift (6:00am-4:30pm, Mon-Thurs and some Friday's for OT)

STARTING PAY – Depends on Experience

EDUCATION – Associate’s Degree or equivalent from college or technical school preferred but not required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE – 5+ years as a production supervisor in a manufacturing environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

The Production Supervisor is responsible for managing the complex metal component assembly team to ensure safety, quality, cost and delivery (SQCD) metrics and targets are driving expected employee performance and production. The lead must also communicate with co-workers regarding productions runs, and maintain a safe, organized and clean work environment in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Managing, training, and developing employees to meet production schedules, ensuring safety, quality, cost, and delivery goals are achieved.
• Overseeing department performance measures and visual controls.
• Balancing quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive outcomes in all areas.
• Presenting improvement ideas and information accurately and clearly, both orally and in writing.
• Ensuring adherence to schedules and customer service requirements.
• Collaborating with Quality Assurance to ensure high-quality products are produced as specified.
• Identifying, analyzing, and addressing bottlenecks, product defect rates, safety hazards, and tool/equipment issues.
• Counseling, motivating, and instructing floor leads in quality standards, machine operations, critical documentation, and employee relations.
• Providing on-the-floor training to new employees when necessary and working closely with floor leads.
• Maintaining proper inventory levels to meet daily production and assembly needs.
• Managing department priorities.
• Assisting in creating production schedules to ensure the production floor meets its goals and operates efficiently.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a production supervisor in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous experience in machine shop, metal fabrication, or welding environments is advantageous.
• The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints, as well as writing routine reports and correspondence.
• Competency in basic mathematical operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Familiarity with Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, Inventory software, and Manufacturing software.
