Lab Technician (Non Medical)
Permanent, 1st shift, Immediate Hire

The Manufacturing LabTechnician is responsible for completing technical and lab work independently with minimal direction from a chemist or supervisor. The Technician will be responsible for supporting lab prototyping, testing, data analysis, and scale-up trials. **This is a Non-Medical Lab Technician role.

Responsibilities may also include supporting test method development, measurement system analysis, and identifying opportunities for process and product improvements. This position involves access to confidential information such as critical formulations, correspondences, engineering data, processes, etc., where discretion and care are essential to safeguard against disclosure or release.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and mix coating formulations using laboratory mixing equipment
Perform drawdowns of formulations using drawdown and drying equipment
Test material properties and performance of coatings, adhesives and films
Compile results and document in laboratory electronic notebook
Communicate results to professional staff
Assist the chemist in preparing for pilot scale coating trials
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to read & follow written directions
Basic math skills
Basic computer skills with medium proficiency in office applications, i.E. M.S. Word & Excel
Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly & stand for 80% of a shift


Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Completed work towards additional education in a chemical science/technology degree is a plus
Ability to acquire knowledge on the job in the areas of chemical formulating, material property testing, and quality tools
Previous experience working in a laboratory environment (non-medical but rather manufacturing lab)
