Job Description
Metal Fabrication Shop. Do you have prior experience as a skilled machine operator or running a Laser cutter? Are you someone who loves a 3-day work week every week? There are positions open on a daytime weekend shift in Chippewa Falls working as a Laser Machine Operator.
POSITION Laser Machine Operator
JOB LOCATION Chippewa Falls, WI
STARTING DATE Immediately
EMPLOYMENT TERM Temp-to-Hire
EMPLOYMENT TYPE Full-Time
WORK HOURS (SHIFT) Weekend Day Shift (5: 45am-6: 15pm, Fri-Sun, OT may be required)
STARTING PAY $18.00 -19.56/hr or more DOE

EDUCATION HS Diploma or equivalent required
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE 1 to 3 years related experience in a metal fabrication setting; and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
The Laser Operator will be responsible for set-up to ensure proper cutting operations, detecting any defective material, and perform quality inspection checks.
Responsibilities
Perform typical laser cutting operations.
Select proper cutting programs, and proper fixtures.
Establish proper stop location, adjust laser beam focal point.
Make proper set-ups for cutting operations.
Perform prescribed maintenance as required.
Perform all dimensional inspections.
Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the supervisor/lead.
May work at different workstations as production needs require.
Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Write simple correspondence.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to read and interpret prints and work orders.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Able to work well with others
