We are now hiring for a 2nd shift Welder in Chippewa Falls, WI.

EMPLOYMENT TERM Temp-to-Hire
EMPLOYMENT TYPE Full-Time
WORK HOURS (SHIFT) 2nd Shift (4pm-2am Mon-Thurs, OT on Fri)
STARTING PAY $19.26/hour with increase after 90 days

REQUIRED EDUCATION High School Diploma/GED required
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE One to two years related work experience or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience

In this position you will be welding metal parts with gas welding equipment as specified by layout, welding diagram, or work order by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities:
  • Positions parts in jigs/fixtures on bench/floor, or claps parts together along layout marks.
  • Examines weld for bead size and other specifications
  • Repairs broken or cracked metal objects, fills holes, and builds up metal parts
  • Lays out, positions, and tack welds work pieces
  • Weld along vertical or overhead weld lines
  • Scarfs or grooves weld prior to applying filler metal
  • Chips or grinds off excess weld, slag, or splatter; grinds weld smooth as required
  • Cleans or degreases parts
  • Checks products for quality work
  • Reworks and repairs faulty products
  • Keeps work area free from debris and clutter
  • Records information, such as quantities, work time, date, and other job information on daily time documents and routing sheets
  • Other duties as assigned including cross-training
  • Assist with the management of inbound and outbound material by upholding excellent inventory control.
  • Communicate effectively with internal customers as well as carriers in regards to the movement of product.


Qualifications:
  • Ability to read, interpret, comprehend and follow instructions both verbally and written
  • Ability to understand and apply documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees within the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, percentages, and decimals
  • Ability to accurately comprehend, interpret and apply measuring device readings
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, area, circumference and volume
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to use good judgment in determining best methods, acceptable quality levels, production priorities, and good and safe equipment procedures
